TSTCT via SE16N (restrict to display-only)

Good day.

I would like to access table TSTCT via SE16N,
the problem is I intentionally removed the activity 02(Change) and left only 03(display).
Client wants it from SE16N instead of SE16/SE11.
Is it possible to access TSTCT table as display-only?

Thank you.

    Maria,

    SE11-Give the table name

    Display.

    Utilities >> Assign Authorisation Group

    Click on the Pencil button

Click on the New entries button

Now maintain the table name and the authorisation group.

Never maintained this way for Standard tables but seems there is a possibility.Let's await expert replies who might have first hand info on this.

But,normallyTSTC table is display only, authorisation group is to restrict the view of table entries.

    Hi Maria,

you have to use S_TABU_DIS with 03 and SS and S_TABU_NAM with 03 (display) and table TSTC to give only read access via SE16N. But in authorization table group SS there are over 1200 tables stored which can know be displayed!

But SE16N is a critical transaction and should not be assigned to user on productive systems (except emergency user, firefighter). Also in development systems this transaction should be given to some persons (e.g. basis team; developer?).

    Best regards,

    Stephan

    Hi Stephan,

Thank you for your reply. I am aware of these authorizations and should not be given out to unauthorized person.

Also, I have already set the authorizations S_TABU_DIS and S_TABU_NAM with display-only (03) value. However, there are some tables that I could not access still (like TSTCT,T5F60). Whenever I want to view these tables, a popup message occurs saying "You are not authorized to change this table." Anyway, this only happens at some tables, not all.
