Quicklink to iview not working

Hi there,

I need to give a short url to access an iview, for which I intended to use the quicklink property. But it does not seem to work. Are there any known issues with it?

Cheers,

LM

Hi,

The reason it is not working is that this iView is not inside a role, if you put the iView inside a role and put this role as an entry point it will work.

Hi Erez,

this iView is inside a role and a menuepoint in 2nd Level of Navigation.

Do these quicklinks have to be in the 1stlevel of navigation?

Hi,

The important think is that on the upper level of were the iView exist there will be an entry point.

So if the entry point is in the second level and the iView is on the third there is no problem.

Hi,

same problem to me. But other Release:

Nw04s EP7.0 SPS 09

I enter a quicklink-property (ssodeak) and marked as entrypoint to a iView.

This iView is deltalinked to a standardrole.

But if I call this url https://(hostname):(port)/irj/portal/ssodeak

I´m on the first page of the portal (startpage).

This don´t work if I´m in the portal and change the adress manually and if I´m not logged in to the portal.

Is this feature only for external facing portals?

best regards

iview's quicklink worked only for iviews that are added to a role (also supports with "invisible in navigation" as yes). I also had iview entry point=no

Hi,

How does it not 'work'? Do you get an error message?

Hi,

create an Iview with a quicklink property : "link1"

then I try to access the Iview through the url : http://[hostname]/irj/portal/link1

If you dont want the Page to be visible in the navigation, set the properties

"navigation entry point" = no and

"invisible in navigation" = yes.

for both the Iview and the page.

Hope it helps,

Rgds,

Jothi.

Hi Jothi,

Thanks for your reply. But it is not working for me. I gave the quicklink property, but when I call it from the url http://hostname:port/irj/portal/<quicklink>; , it is giving me the initial portal page, instead of going to the iview.

Any ideas?

Did you try the URL without the port number?

Hi Ravinder,

Ya, tried it just now, It gives the error saying URL was not found on the server.

Have you set the quicklink property on the iView or the page or both?

Are you using a page as well as an iview?

Also, have you enabled SSO into your portal?

Hi Ravinder,

I have set the quick link property just to the iview. I have not set it to the page. I am trying to access this iview, directly from the url, so not sure whether I should have a page for it..

Yes, SSO is enabled on the portal.

Try setting the quicklink property on the page instead of the iview. Remove the quicklink property from the iview and see if it works.

Thats how i have used it in my portal.

Hi Ravinder,

Tried it. Same issue..It brings up the portal page.

We are on SP14. What version are you on?

That's weird. We're on SP16 now.

Have you set the appropriate entry points etc...?

You have to make sure you add this iView to a role in which the current user belongs. It's not enough just to set the QuickLink in Content Administration.

Also, there was a bug in SP14 for QuickLinks and anonymous users. SAP Note 893855 has the hotfix for the gateway.jar file.

1. Backup the old gateway.jar located at:

...j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF

2. Copy the new file to this directory

3. Restart the J2EE to deploy the file.

Hope this helps.

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for the reply. We are not able to apply that note mentioned from the SDM Gui because it hangs for some reason as soon as the file is selected. The procedure we are trying is by adding this file through the sdm gui and then deploy it.

Are you aware of such a issue?

Thanks

You don't use SDM Gui. The steps are as I mentioned in that you have to copy the JAR file to the physical directory for the servlet_jsp and restart the server.

So, open the OSS note and go to the attachments link to get the gateway.jar file. Copy that file to the servlet_jsp directory I mentioned in step 1 above and restart the server.

Hope this helps and rember about the points!
