This question is applicable only for NW 2004S.
I want to assign a fixed unit 'EA' (each) to a key-figure of type unit that is included in my info-cube.
I am loading the data to an info-cube through a flat file. I don't have the unit value in the flat file as I want to assign a fixed value. When I included the key-figure to the data-source for this it automatically added the unit info-object. I deleted the unit info-object line from the data-source. When I tried to activate the data source it gave me an error indicating that the key-figure did not have a unit info-object associated with it. I entered 'EA' in the column cur/unit of the key-figure in the data-source and I was able to activate the data-source without errors. I was hoping that it would take this value "EA" for unit when I create the transformation.
When I created a transformation to connect the data source to the info-cube, the system did not allow me to activate indicating the target key-figure of type 'unit' did not have a corresponding source info-object for unit.
I had to use the "Routine with unit" in 'Rules" for the key-figure to assign the value for unit. The question is "Is this the only option I have" when I need to assign a constant value for a unit or currency key-figure in BI. I don't want to assign a fixed unit of 'EA' when defining the key-figure in RSD1.
In 3.5 and below, we could directly assign a constant value to an unit or currency target info-object in the transfer rules.
Thanks in advance for any help.
