Design Studio - issues with averages

DS does not display the same calculations as the universe does. In the universe the measure is an average (Result Percent)

The universe averages correct:

In DS it does not:

When I add months in to display all the data it displays correct in both:

As you can see, it should average to 39. What is even more strange is it works fine for "Priority" witch is the superior to "Sub Priority"

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Justin - there are no documented limitations on this per this SAP Note https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/1983117/E so I would submit an incident to SAP. First question in the SAP Note is if the issue is reproducible in Web Intelligence...

Another option is to use Web Intelligence as a Data Source to Design Studio https://blogs.sap.com/2015/09/19/design-studio-update-apos-webcast-recap/

    • Thanks so much, you are always so helpful. I think it is a division by 0 issue. No matter which one you select it always does the same thing. It averages all the non 0 values. I think i fixed it by adding .0001 to all values so that it is never 0 and it seems to be working now.

      Thanks.

    Hi Justin,

Is your measure defined as a Delegated Measure in the universe? If so, this is not supported in Design Studio.

    Regards,

    Mustafa.

What is amazing is the universe show the data exactly how I want it to but, DS displays it how it wants to. Why would DS not just let the universe take care of the data and DS just display the data it is given by the universe? This is so fustrating.

    Hello Justin,

I can not tell which result is right or wrong. In your first example 12 data records (including the 0 values) are used to calculate the average: In the universe: 475 / 12 = 39

In Design Studio the data records with 0 values are not taken into account: 475 / 6 = 79.

The second example is correct (per accident, as you have no 0 values).

What is the source of your universe / DS application?

    Clemens
