Experience with server migration and Solution Manager 7.2 upgrade

Hi folks,

We are planning to migrate our Solution Manager 7.1 SP12 (MSSQL) to a new environment (SM currently runs on Windows Server 2008 and it is about end of life we need to migrate the server to Windows Server 2012) and upgrade Solution Manager to 7.2 SP04.

As we need to plan a head, I would like to know what your experiences are as in time it took for the whole upgrade plus post activity and to have everything up and running, time it took you/your team to go through the managed system configuration per system and have at least Change Request Management up and running.

To name a functionalities it use, we make use of the following features within Solution Manager: E2E/Root-Cause-Analysis, Change Request Management, Technical Monitoring, Early Watch Reporting, SLA Reporting and Wily CA integration. In addition we also have several Business Blueprint and Solution Documentation which we'd like to keep.

For the latter, it was said by SAP that a new installation is a no go if we want to keep the solution documentations and projects.

We have about 80 managed servers, so assuming that it takes X hours to do a happy flow managed system configuration wizard times 80.

As I don't expect a lot of company will face the same case to have server migration and upgrade, I just want to know the time it took you/your team for the whole upgrade and all the post activity only. Please also state how many managed system you have connected to your Solution Manager and what functionalities you use.
