Connect to SAP Server from subnet

Hello everybody,

consider this network set up including SAP Server and SAP Clients being able to connect to the server:

- SAP Server IP: 10.0.1.2 in network 10.0.1.0/24

- Let's say network 10.0.2.0/22 is divided/sub-netted in 3 new networks and inside these networks all SAP Clients exist

i) 10.0.2.0/24 with gateway 10.0.2.1

ii) 10.0.3.0/24 with gateway 10.0.3.1

iii) 10.0.4.0/24 with gateway 10.0.4.1

My question is if a LAN is set up including SAP Server's network and the three sub-nets, will SAP Clients be able to connect successfully to SAP Server?

Kind regards,

Dimitris Theotokatos

    Hi Dimitris,

As long as everything is in the same domain, and you can connect the SQL Server from all client machines, there should not be any issues.

If you want to make absolutely sure, you can always install a bare bone B1 installation with a demo database, and one client on each subnet, before setting up the production company database

    Regards,

    Johan
