Can't copy the FM template RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE

Hi,

I am trying to copy the FM RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE to a Z FM name for function group RSAX. For some reason, it gives me the info message "Function module name is reserved for SAP". When I click on to continue, I get the prompt to register the object. How can continue to create my own FM without having to register the object? Does this mean that I have to register the function group RSAX before I can create my own FM?

Please advise. Thanks.

Hi Rob,

Please follow the below steps.

Step 1 -

First create your own function group. For this Go to SE80. In the drop down list box that appears select Function Group and below that give the name for your Function Group - say 'ZTEST' and press Enter. Now this will prompt you for a dialog box which would ask you if you want to create this function group, say yes. and activate this new Function Group ZTEST.

Step 2 -

Now come back to SE37 and go ahead with copying of RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE. When you click COPY and give the name of your new Function Module, below it you will also need to give the name of your new function group - 'ZTEST'. Save this and activate. This will work fine now.

Hi,

Try to copy the RSAX function group to your Z... (SE80), you will be able to copy the function module also during that step.

hi RT,

changes to SAP's function group will need to register,

it's better to create your own z function group first,

se37 -> go to -> function groups -> create group.

and assign to this new created Z function group to your z function module when do copy function module from RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE.
