Assigning system to package

Former Member

Hi all,

I have imported MSS package in my EP6.0 system.

I have created one system using dedicated server template for R3. Created alias and done user mapping. In system test connection I am able to connect to the system.

The problem is when I open the My staff page it says could not connect to R3 system. The error says could not connect to sap system SAP_r3_humanresources. This is not the alias that I have created. I have created STB as the alias I want to use.

How do I assign this system to the package.

Please guide me.

Thanks and regards,

Afroz

Hi

1) create the entry for R/3 in SLD under Technical system (http://<hostname>:<port>/sld)

2) create JCo and test the connection. (go to http://<hostname>:<port>/ >> webdynpro >> webcontent)

Now do the test.

It should go well

Hi Jawahar,

I have created the same , but when I test it it gives the following error,

com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (102) RFC_ERROR_COMMUNICATION: Connect to SAP gateway failed Connect_PM TYPE=A ASHOST=stc SYSNR=03 GWHOST=stc GWSERV=sapgw03 PCS=1 LOCATION CPIC (TCP/IP) on local host with Unicode ERROR service '?' unknown TIME Fri Jun 09 15:40:28 2006 RELEASE 640 COMPONENT NI (network interface) VERSION 37 RC -3 COUNTER 1

Which service is to be defined and where?

Is it any service under SICF in the R3 System?

Hi Afroz

first add the service entry in services file under

c:\windows(or winnt)\system32\drivers\etc

edit the services file add following entry.

sapgw03-->3303/tcp

u can find the gateway service of ur R3 system using tranasaction SMGW

smgw->goto->remote gateways

u can find gateway service of ur host under TP Name

Hi

Did you slove it?

Check that your system configuration assigned to the particular R/3 system alais?

Did you do the user mapping for that particular R/3 system alais?

Check that provided r/3 user name & pwd valid?

check the connection parameter (WAS entry).

Hi All,

I had done all that but did not work.

Now I have created system as SAP_R3_HumanResources and now it is working.

My question is if I have different systems available and I want to use them for the same Iview how can I do that?

Is the system defined in Role some where? or is it attached to the Iview?

Where from it is taking SAP_R3_HumanResource as the system alias to be used to connect.

Please help me understand the concept.

Thanks and regards,

Hi Afroz

the u can't find any iview for ESS which has assigned system SAP_R3_HumanResource

but look at ur JCO connection for webdynpro application.

SAP_R3_HumanResource is the name for JCO connection which is used for SAP_R3_HumanResource application data

there other JCO connection for Application data.

SAP_R3_Financials

SAP_R3_Travel

so u have to define this as alias for system for using Travel management from ESS.

Thanks Kaushal,

Is there any way one can change using this standard JCO.

Like I have now put in Inventory analysis, there I can select the system in the Iview properties.

Hi Afroz

than u need to modify the ESS webdynpro application.

ESS webdynpro application use this JCO destination to connect the R3 system.

Hi,

You have to set the appropirate system name in the iView properties ( System - STB)

Hope this helps.
