Attaching the Query to the Role (Menu)

Hi Friends,

I have created the role and attached the same to one of the user. Can you please help how do I attach the query (Bex) in the menu tab for this specific role. I can able to attach the transaction RRMX in the menu. But how do I attach the query directly. I mean when the user login into the system he should be able to see the report only. When he clicks it should straight away open the report in Bex.

please advise.

Thanks

Ramesh Ganji

    Hi Ramesh..

You need to create an SAP BW Report iView with the Bex query and assign it to the role you created

You attached the iview going to Content Administration -> Portal Content -> Find the Role (Click on it) -> Find the iView and right click -> Add iView to Role.

You can use the iView as the entry page as long as the iView is marked as an Entry point in the iView properties.

    Hope this help!

    Hi Ramesh,

Create a new role YXXX and create new folder under the Menu tab and embedded authorization to RRMX via (S_TCODE Auth object)and assign it to user. Now inform users to logon on through BEX Analyser/Browser and have him save the work book/Query to this role..The role can been seen by the user with role description.

Make sure user has sufficient BW authorizations to execute the query/work book..

    Thanks Anil

    Hi Ramesh,

If you have created the query, first of all create a role and add yourself to the role(blank role).

Login through BEX using your userid and password.

Then add the query to the newly created role in BEX popup window.

    logoff.

go to the role and add the users to the role who needs access to the query.

Now the users have access to the query and u have to set the authorizations using the standard auth.objects in BW.
