Hello, we have our SAP (application server and database server) production as server without domain. we have been requested to use scn to connect to another SAP then Active directory is mandatory.

we have to include SAP server in a existing windows domain or create a new windows
domain for both. is there something that we must know before adding our sap servers on a domain?. all services are created as local accounts then all of them should work without change after adding the servers to a domain..... or there are some changes to do in sap? all works well after including sap servers in a existing domain? will be easier to promote one of them to domain controller and create a new domain for both?

any advice will be helpfull.

thanks.

pd.: SAP is 6.00 on windows 2008 servers

Hello Zarach,

Using an existing domain or a new one is entirely up to you and your business / IT to decide.

About migrating SAP to a domain environment, please refer to the SAP System Copy guides at https://support.sap.com/sltoolset -> System Provisioning -> System copy.

Regards,

Isaías
