Can we load data into ODS Using Infocube

Hi Everyone,

i Have a doubt, can we load data into ODS from Cube(in DATA MARTS).IF so ? pls anybody tell me the Steps.

1 Generate Export Datasource on the cube

2 Create the Update rule for the ODS

3 Create info Package against generated Datasource

4 Schedule the infopackage

Hi sreeni

You can generate the export datasource for the InfoCube and then you can load the data into the ODS object.

But to tell you, can you tell me where and why you have encountered this scenario.

Anyhow the process for the datamart creation is the same.

hi,

You would be using something called 'Ddatamarts' for this purpose. R8t click on the source(data target) and click on the generate export data source. It would create an infosource 8<technical name of the source data target). From there it is a similar procedure of creating the destination data target and update rules

lookout these links which for Datamart interface

can update data from from one data target to other data target through data marting.

right click ur ODS/ Cube from where u r updating data to other target and select the Generate export data source. then it will create a data source with the name 8forllowed by ur data taget name. there after assign ur data source to ur infosource. and then create Update rules betwn the targets and then select the update data to other data target from where u r updating.

Hi Sreeni,

It would be possible and the steps are the same as in any datamart scenario: Generate the export datasource on the cube, create the update rules from Cube to ODS and load using the InfoPackage.

HI Sreeni..

Yes..we can load data into ODS using Infocube.

The steps are like ...

1) Generate export datasource on the cube.Right click on the cube and choose generate export data source option.An infosource will be created with the cube name prefixed with 8.

2) create update rules with this to the ODS...it will be starting with 8<INFOCUBE>.

3)Load the data.
