Hi All,

I am developing a dashboard using SAP Design Studio 1.6SP2 where I have two data sources - universe and BEx.

Universe Data:

BEx Data:

I would like to show the output in Design Studio as below:

Could anyone please suggest how this is achievable?

Thanks

Poojitha,

You should be able to create a multi source universe which merges both the BEx Query and the Oracle database tables. Here are some links to get you started. As Tammy has suggested, you should review this with your Data Architect or whoever on your team is responsible for building universes:

How to Create Universes Using BEx Queries as Data Sources with SAP BusinessObjects Information Design Tool 4.1

Mustafa.

Thanks Mustafa for the links.

Posted the same question in a different space as well.

No problems. For future reference, keep in mind that as per the SCN Rules of Engagement you should not cross-post the same question in multiple spaces. You should select the most appropriate Primary Tag and then assign the other relevant spaces as secondary/additional tags.

Sure,Will be deleting this question from the Design Studio space and posting in the right space.

Thanks.

No need to delete. You can probably request the moderator, Tammy to move it to the right space if you are not able to do this yourself by editing the Primary Tag.

You should do this on the backend; Design Studio doesn't have this capability. For speed and performance also, I recommend you do this on the backend.

Could you please tell me how this can be achieved, as I was trying to create a universe over the Bex query and then merge both the universes in the backend, but I was not able to do merge them.

I'm not familiar with your data model; if you have data in BW you can model non-SAP data in BW, then create a query on top of that. It's faster to do all of this on the backend.

Thank you.

But we do not have data in BW and the parent data source is universe(non-SAP data)

I'm not a universe expert; what is your database behind the universe? Is it possible to combine/join in the Information Design Tool? Do you have a data architect to review this (I am not an expert in these matters)

DB behind the universe is Oracle and I tried to combine both , but i could not find any option to do so.

For this to work in Design Studio, the data needs to be combined on the backend; perhaps you could share details of your data model and post this in the Semantic Layer space? Just my take only
