Hi All,

i have a datasource which is loading data into two cubes A1 and B1

and i have initialized both of them and also having deltas presently but i had encountered a

problem with A1 so i want to reinit it by deleting the data and request from A1

my doubt is if i am deleting the init of one cube will the other cube also need to be reinited

becoz i am using the same infopackage to load them.

and i am planning to delete the contents of A1 and also the init request form the infopackage

so plz letme know if i will have any issues with the B1 delta loads if i delete the init of A1 and again reinit the A1

thanks and regards

Hi Harish

Hi Harish

Yes. You will have issues if youdelete the init of A1 and again reinit the A1. You will loose delta for B1. This is becasue you are using same datasource for both A1 and B1.

I would advise you to carry out this in QA system first.

Here is what you should do-

1.First load all delta from the data source to Info cubes A1 and B1. Don't leave any outstanding delta.

2. Delete the contents of A1.

3. Go to infopackage and delete the initializtion options for source system . Now you have delted init for both A1 and B1.

4.Load the data using new full update option infopackage to Info cube A1.

5. Do init without data transfer for both A1 and B1.

6.Now you should be able to load delta in both.

Hope this helps.

Hi all,

i have done the deletion of init for one Infocube thats A1 and did not do anything in the infocube B1 and again reinit the A1 and again did the delta load for the both infocubes the delta went fine for both of them it didn't gave any error and i could find the request in the B1 cube as green.

lets assume if their is any problem of delta init in B1 it won't load the delta load right and the request wont be green.

plz clarify

Hi Harish

You have mentioned "again reinit the A1 ".

I am wondering have u done init for only A1?

You had told that from same data source data is being loaded into 2 Infocubes A1 and B1.

Hi Pradip,

yes i have unchecked the other cube B1 from the infopackage in the data targets tab and then went to the menu bar scheduler and deleted the init in it and then only reinit the cube A1 so i got the init request in A1 and later i have manually schedulled the delta infopackage which is loading into both the cubes so it went fine without any error i could see the requests in both cubes

thanks and regards

If your delta load went fine without any errors then it's fine. Now schedule the delat infopackage to run daily (as per your frequency).

It seems your problem is solved.

Hi,

Adding to my previous reply. Ensure you have extraction queue empty and delta queue empty.

Perform full load in posting free time..

Hope it helps!!!

Hello HB.

The datasource being the same, you cant reinit for only one cube.

What i think is you can delete data in both the cube, and then reinit . This is the way to make sure both cubes are in sync.

Hi,

If the initialization is already setup then u cannot disturb it.

What i think can be done , but cross check this one.

What ideally you can do is delete the data from Cube A1. Full load the data till date and then allow the delta to flow in. Delta should flow since you have not done anything to delta initalization.

Hope it helps
