Why do we need to delete and recreate COPA datasource if we have to add a new field.

You don't have to delete and recreate datasource if you want to add field but if you want to select a new field then you have to delete and create

If you want to add a new field you can append it to the Data source through RSA6 and poulate it throug custom exit. But if you want to select a new field from KEB0, you need to delete and recreate the COPA datasource. This is because once you select the required fields in KEB0 and create the data source all the other fields are masked and you can't select them .you need to recreate the DS to select the new fields.
