Change Portal URL

Hi ,

We have a demo portal system with url <b>http://hostname.companyname.com/irj</b> and it is accessible to internet users . NOw we need to change this to <b>http://sapportal.companyname.com</b> . I just thought of installing sap webdispatcher ( install in the same host )

and map the url . Is this the best apporoach or do we have any other best practice .Pls advice

Hi Aneez,

Do you have a external Load Balancer in front of the Portal ? If yes, then you can do this mapping on LB itself.

Otherwise, webdispatcher or reverse proxy is also a good option. In that case, you can edit index.html to redirect http://sapportal.companyname.com to http://hostname.companyname.com/irj
