Allocation for Complex Product Hierarchies

Hello,

I'm facing a complex distribution and allocation challenge related to product hierarchies, and I'm looking for guidance on the best practices to address it.

I'm dealing with a product dimension. I may create one dimension that contains multiple hierarchies,

or duplicating the dimension to hold different hierarchies in separate dimensions.

Additionally, I can add attributes to assist in this process.

Here's the issue: My customer requires me to simultaneously plan data at a parent level and at a specific leaf level within a "business view" hierarchy.

The parent-level planning should include the specific leaf-level planning.

Afterward, I need to perform a distribution or allocation using a driver (such as actual sales) to spread the total sum across the leaf nodes.

I must ensure that this allocation process does not alter the planned sums for the specific leaves.

I cannot rely on automated distribution features because this task is too wide to be performed manually.

I'm also uncertain about how to perform the allocation while preserving the total plan for each parent node.

What would you suggest?
