Hi,
My company is upgrading its systems to Netweaver technolgy. Could any one tell me whether XI needs Java knowledge. I want to learn XI outside. Please let me know the important topics that we need to get the expertise in Netweaver technology.
Regards,
Vivek.
Hi
I've taken SAP XI course from SAP Education centre. I feel that Java (25%) & ABAP knowledge is required. Yes jave plays important role in JAVA mapping and adapter kit development

Hi Vivek,
The best way to learn about Netweaver is right here. SDN has a plethora of information on SAP NetWeaver primarily as well as other areas. Go through the weblogs, articles and the SDN library in general, to learn more.
Use the 'Search'option to for specific learning.
And as far as I know, Java knowledge is pretty much an asset in streams like XI, where you might need to work on Java mappings, and writing User Defined Functions.

Hi Vivek,
Java is not required. Some ABAP knowledge would be helpful as well as XSL. Required is deep knowledge of XML. You will need some weeks if you are quite new in the SAP world. <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/14/80243b4a66ae0ce10000000a11402f/frameset.htm">SAP Library</a>
