Enterprise Portal as content provider to Work Zone

We are working on a Work Zone Standard trial and have managed to connect to some of our backend on-premise systems, creating tiles for transaction codes, UI5 application, URLs for example, however we're having issues when trying to leverage some of these backed systems as content providers.

We followed this guide Enterprise Portal as a Content Provider to SAP BTP | SAP Help Portal as well as some blogs (Enterprise Portal as a Content Provider to SAP BTP | SAP Blogs), and were successful in assigning backend roles from an on-premise Fiori system to the work zone site and users, and the applications/tiles related to those roles are available to the user, but when we do the same for Enterprise Portal and ECC/Business Suite systems, the related applications/tiles do not show up on the user's launchpad.

Has anyone set up a Portal or ECC system as a content provider in Work Zone that can help us figure out what we are missing? Our enterprise portal is 7.5 and on-premise.
