Our customer has basically two different scenarios for free of charge items in sales processes:
Materials are usually not but still sometimes, individually free of charge for the customer. This is easy to solve as we can enter relevant item category TANN manually which leads to a 100% discount of the relevant item.
Materials are generally free-of-charge (e.g. brochures, advertising materials, small giveaways, etc.) and have no related pricing conditions. Unfortunately, this seems not to be possible as part of a sales order with other, chargeable items.
I would need an item category group which could be assigned within material master to identify a material as free of charge, determining a certain item category from item category determination which has no pricing relevance.
Item category TANN is not an option here as we would always have a pricing error for those items due to obligatory price condition PPR0. Also, item category TANN cannot be determined automatically for sales order main items as defined within item category determination.
Using free-of-charge orders is also not an option as those items are only part of a sales order which also includes other, chargeable items. Additionally, free-of-charge orders would still lead to a pricing error for those items due to obligatory pricing condition PPR0.
Is there any advice in this case? Is there any way to set up a new sales order item category (including related item category group) which is completely free of charge/not relevant for pricing?
