Since PowerBuilder 12.6 can be build on 64 bit. Will there be any issue if I run the PB 12.6 (64 bit) application on windows 2016?

Will there be any change required in existing PB 12.6 code to run on windows 2016?

Here are the officially supported versions of Windows:

Windows XP Professional with SP 3, Windows Vista 32- or 64-bit Business with SP2, Windows 7 32- or 64-bit with SP1, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2008 32- or 64-bit with SP2, or Windows Server 2012.

You will have to test your app to see if there are any incompatibilities.

I know that Appeon plans on adding official Windows 10 support to the next version of PowerBuilder. I have not heard anything about Windows Server versions.

Thanks for the reply Roland. My client is planning to go with PB 17 next year and our end users will move to windows 2016 too. That is why I raised this compatibility question. Definitely we will test our application before we release. Just wanted to know if there is any news available. One news I heard on SAP site that to run 64 bit version application, make sure third party DLLS should be compatible on 64 bit as well.

Please let me know if you heard anything related to 64 bit version.

Thanks once again.

A 64bit PowerBuilder application requires the 64bit version of your database client software. If your app uses OLE to interact with Outlook, Word, or Excel, you will need the 64bit version of those. You will also need 64bit versions of any other third party dll libraries you might be using.
