Request goes into error state after submission

I have a situation where a user submits a GRC request, gets the message that the request has been submitted but then it goes directly to Error in the Instance Approval Status. No one is notified that there is an issue with the request.

In this example the request contains 1 line item to assign a role to an existing user. The role owner assigned to this role is no longer a valid user. In our initiator rule, we added (SAP wrote this for us during a Max attention session) a procedure call, which first checks if the role owner exists before deciding what path to send this line item too. If the role owner is invalid, the rule result is NO_ROLE_OWNER. We have defined a path for this rule result which contains an agent group to send to for approval.

I have simulated this request in BRFPLUS and it shows the rule result as NO_ROLE_OWNER.

There is no data in SLG1 for this particular request.

I have attached a document with screen shots of the MSMP configuration for this path as well as a screen shot of my BRFPLUS initiator.

I am on GRC 10.1 SP7

Any suggestions?

Hi,

what is the agent group type. could you provide the audit log screenshot.

there was no need of any procedure call.as the routing rule of no role owner or escape path could have been used

Hi, I have uploaded a copy of the audit log for one of these requests. See that the last approval was 4 days before we cancelled the request. That was the last approval needed for the path.

The reason we added a procedure call.as is because if no role owner is found; it takes all the roles in that path and puts them in the default no role owner path. We wanted a way to move just the role with no approver to that path.

Thanks for your time.

Hi Jeanne.

Please check your 2038 parameter. If it's set to YES, maybe it's overriding your procedure call.
