Material blocked for goods receipt with movement type 101 only.

Hello All,

I have an requirement where the material should be blocked from GRN with movement type 101 only, according to the standard blocking indicators available in sap, the material is blocked for PO creations as well as for warehouse movements, but here my requirement is to block only in MIGO with Mov Type 101.

Please suggest the way out.

So today "the material is blocked for PO creations as well as for warehouse movements,", and you´d like to open the restriction a little bit so that POs are OK but the material must not enter into free stock, is that it?

Could you give a context on the end goal, like these materials need to always enter via a special stock (quality, block, etc...?), or?

Actually these materials are regularly procured, but sometimes it happens that plenty of stock is available in the system so the users must consume the existing stock first and then only new GRN will be done.

We can not stop the users from creating the PO's because of management decision, therefore the blocking can only be done at the time of MIGO 101.

Ok, I have no additional feedback really for a solution.

If the system could do what you wanted, then what happens if the goods arrive but cannot be posted to stock?

There must be some other context on this scenario, for external procurement this would be tricky.

Ask your Security Team to restrict authorization of 101 movement to MIGO. This is possible

You can block the material for goods receipt with movement type 101 only by following the steps below:

1. Go to transaction code OMS2.
2. Select the material type for which you want to block the material.
3. Click on the “View” button.
4. Click on the “Plant Data/Stor. 1” tab.
5. Click on the “Storage” button.
6. Select the storage location for which you want to block the material.
7. Click on the “Plant Stock Availability” tab.
8. Select the “Blocked” checkbox for movement type 101.
9. Save your changes.

I have tried the steps you have mentioned above, but it is not what I need exactly.

The thing i want to block my material to be stopped at the time of MIGO 101. The standard material blocking indicators will block the inventory movements completely but i need blocking for 101 movement type.

Please suggest some way out.
