Dear Experts,

As SAP suggest us to use the maintenance planner for calculating such dependencies and perform the EHP5 FOR SAP ERP 6.0 SPS 22 update so we are going to update our current EHP5 FOR SAP ERP 6.0 SPS 5 upgrade to EHP5 FOR SAP ERP 6.0 SPS 22.

But we have a few simple questions as like below,

Q.1:-We have integrated many process from ECC to CRM system. After SPS upgrade will it impact on CRM config or existing integration process?(current version SAP CRM ABAP 7.0)

Q.2:-After EHP5 FOR SAP ERP 6.0 SPS 22 version the below Union Budget 2023-2024 notes will be applicable in our ECC system?

3300975 ,3309482 ,3315255 ,3319342 ,3320581 & 3320642 SP Upgrade for Budget 2023-24_Indian Payroll

Please find the current system component version info xml for your detailed analysis.

We are writing here because just want confirmation from your side before starting the upgradation.

Thanks.

Hello Uday,

Sps5 is pretty far back, so good job on planning to bring your system up to the current sps22. Doing so should help you get over most of the upgrade headaches now before you do your mandatory upgrade to a higher release (e.g., EhP8) in a couple years.

Maintenance Planner is definitely the right tool to help you put that together in a consistent way. Towards the end of the planning process it includes a tool to "Check Upgrade Dependencies." As long as your CRM system's details are up-to-date in System Data and Maintenance Planner, you should be able to pick it in there and get at least a quick high-level overview of whether your planned combination will work, or whether you need to plan an update of the CRM system at the same time.

Note, you may need to consider updates of your kernel, database, and/or operating system as well, so I highly recommend checking all through the details in the Product Availability Matrix. Also be sure to read through the Release & Information Note for EhP5, 1484460. There are some comments in there about productive use of sps22 on NetWeaver 7.50.

As for applicability of the Notes you mentioned, that depends upon what HRSP levels you plan to apply (SAP_HR 6.04 and EA-HR 605). EhP5 sps22 comes with SAP_HR 6.04 sp186 (aka "I6") and EA-HR 605 sp163 (aka "G3"), but Maintenance Planner will allow you to add additional HRSPs on top of the core sps stack, up to the latest and greatest available for your planned release at the time you make the plan. So right now that would be SAP_HR 6.04 sp190 ("J0") and EA-HR 605 sp167 ("G7"). Some of the Notes are included in those HRSPs, so you will likely find it easier to just include the HRSPs in the stack and reduce how many Notes you have to apply manually afterwards.

3300975 is included in SAP_HR 604 sp190 (J0), but you would still need to apply the Side Effect Correction Note 3320581.

3319342 and 3309482 do not appear to be applicable for your release.

3315255 and 3320642 are applicable, so if you use Payroll India and Union Budget, then you should probably apply these after applying the stack. 3320642 also has a side effect, so if you apply this one, you should also apply 3327246.

If in doubt, download these Notes in SNOTE in your DEV system after you have applied the stack update, and SNOTE will tell you if they are applicable or not.

Of course, you will need to test all those interfaces to your CRM DEV system from your ERP DEV system after applying the stack, so you will find out if further adjustments and configurations are needed before you move on to QAS and formal testing.

Cheers,
Matt
