Identify new sales order vs existing sales order in SAP CPI

Hi

How do we identify a new sales order created in S4hana Vs existing sales order (in CPI) , as we understand we use CreationDateTime field . But during the testing, we have noticed that this that CreationDateTime changes dynamically when the sales order is updated (in change mode). Can you please help in identifying as to what should the field we have to use and why this CreationDateTime field is getting changed dynamically.
