Hi,
I have just started to check the Public version of SAP S4HANA 2302 and there is one thing I dont understand and cant find the correct answer for it anywhere so I thought I could try here.
I dont understand if S4HANA Public Cloud is using SAP WM or SAP EWM (Embedded) ? Because in the material master there is no "Warehouse Management 1/2" and if I create a Inbound for the WM Sloc It automatically trying to reach or send out the inbound to the decetrilized system, but I dont have any decentrilized or Stand alone EWM.
When I have followed the Warehouse Management setup for public cloud it is sometimes refer to EWM and several best practices also refers to EWM. And when I check the Scope in the CBC I can see that there are several "SAP EWM integration" which is locked (I know how to make them unlocked).
Thanks for support!
Hi,
let me try to clarify:
Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) is only available for S/4HANA Cloud, private edition and S/4HANA On-Premise:
https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_S4HANA_ON-PREMISE/9832125c23154a179bfa1784cdc9577a/4ecb88b8b2422afee10.
In S/4HANA Cloud, public edition, the warehousing functionality is called Warehouse Management:
https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_S4HANA_CLOUD/87f9b54f9c4f4e75aff0061860a6589a/4ecb88b8b2422afee1000000.
However, while Warehouse Management in S/4HANA Cloud, public edition is a different product than EWM, it is based on (embedded) EWM and users will find that a lot of the features are similar. It is completely unrelated to the old "Warehouse Management" in SAP ECC.
