Extend Standard Fiori App on On-Premise R/3 System using Eclipse or the BAS

Hello,

I want to extend one of the pre-installed standard SAP Fiori Apps on an on-premise R/3 system.
Currently we are still using Eclipse for Fiori Development in this project, but we want to switch to Business Application Studio in the near future.

However, I only find tutorials explaining the extension of a Fiori-App using the Web IDE for R/3 systems or the BAS for S/4 systems.

Is it possible to create an extension project in Eclipse? If yes, how? If not, can the BAS be used for extension projects on R/3 systems as well?
