SAP GATP Transportation and Shipment Scheduling - PICK on Fixed Date

Hi All,

We are using SAP GATP Transportation and Shipment Scheduling, We have a new requirement for new product releases, we want to hold the shipment process if the Material availability is in a certain period.

Example1 : For all the Sales Orders with Material availability date between Mar-01 -2023and Mar-15-2023, We want the scheduling process to start from Mar-15-2023.

Example2 : For all the Sales Orders promised within a week, we want to scheduling process to start from the Last working day of the week. so, if Material availability date between Mar-06 -2023 and Mar-10-2023, We want the scheduling process to start from Mar-10-2023.

SAP GATP Transportation and Shipment Scheduling with Condition based / Configurable process scheduling are based on the durations, but the LEAD durations are not fixed in our case, they change based on the MBDAT to start picking process at the end of the week.

Any Suggestion how can we achieve this?

Interesting requirement. This would mean you (could) define in GATP on product location level what is an "allowed material availability date" where the pick process starts earliest. I would not know of such a capability in GATP outside using a BADI/UserExit and ABAP to achieve this. For Example 2 if this is a requirement applicable for all products in a location you could use the ShippingCalendar in the Location master data and add a timestream which is open on Fridays only. But I assume you are locking for a solution which can be used on individual product location level and not being applied for the whole location.

"Holding the shipping process" could also mean you do this in execution system in ERP. Means, you don't generate Deliveries until the 15th of the month / Friday of the week using product selection variants on either case using VL01N or VL10A etc.

For what do you need GATP for such new released products then if you could simply run the initial ramp-up process in ERP (with these fixed shipping dates) with a very simply ATP check there. If the ramp-up phase is over you could then switch the products to use GATP - just a thought.
