i want to count the elements of a Characteristic, i do not have a keyfigure....i just have the characteristic store and i want to know the number of stores in a region....
is it posible to count the elements of a characteristic and display it as if it was a keyfigure? in other words is it posible to create a metric from a characteristic and put it on the bex template at the keyfigure area?
hi Rafael,
welcome to SDN ...
yes, it's possible, you can create formula variable with replacement path.
take a look
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_bw33/helpdata/en/ca/5f9ac61a205a459d0e7ef313d10321/frameset.htm
and
hope this helps.

hi Rafael,
check this
create a formula as suggested by Bhanu, right click 'keyfigures' and 'new formula', in next screen click '1', it will go to the formula.
or try to use 1ROWCOUNT in left side.
also check how to calculate with attribute
https://websmp102.sap-ag.de/~sapdownload/011000358700001963972003E/HowToCalcWithAttr.pdf
hope this helps.
Hi AHP is good to see you always with answers is greate!
i have already checked the formula solution, the one suggested by Bhanu but that does not work because you can not put the formula at the characteristic level that only works if you want to count the template elements and what i want is to count the elements of a characteristic at certains levels as in the example stores and region. I do not if i am wrong but as i know we only can use the 1ROWCOUNT with MultiProviders if its posible to use it in normal cubes can you explain me how to do it because i do not have the option in the characteristic.
Thanks for all!
Sorry i also check the note "calculate with atributes" but that does not work and by the way the one that works perfect is the keyfigure solution.
