Discontinued part leads to recursiveness

Hello

I have a problem setting up a follow up material for a discontinued part.

This is our current BOM setup:

Parent item = A

BOM:

Child item X. This is a phantom item and has material Z in BOM

Child item Y. This is NOT a phantom item, but also has material Z in BOM (requirement for internal reasons).

Child item X is setup as a phantom item, Child item Y is set up as purchased part procurement F.

Goal is to move from item X to item Y at a certain date. For this I wanted to use discontinued parts in MRP4.

It is not possible to move from item X to item Y using this, because it is not possible for phantom assembly.

So then I tried to move from item Z to item Y. But according the system this lead to recursiveness.

But I don't see the recursiveness. Item Y is a F purchased part. So when SAP makes the switch from Z to Y there should be NO recursiveness.

It seems like SAP will check the BOM from item Y and it find item Z there, so it thinks it is recursive. In reality it is not.

Does anyone have any idea how to solve this situation?

Thanks!

Kind regards

Koen
