Dear SAP Experts,
I am defining object keys for a new table we want to classify, and we are trying to determine if we should be setting the Key Field flag (TCLO- FLAGK0,1,2…) in the Fields in Object Key section. This is in IMG Path: Cross Application Components > Classification System > Classes > Define Object Keys.
The help documentation for this IMG Activity is not strong on these fields. There is actually no documentation for the purpose of Parameter ID, Key Field, or Table columns in the Fields in Object Key section. Does anyone know the purpose columns Key Field flag (TCLO- FLAGK0,1,2…) and Table (TCLO- KONFITAB0,1,2…) in the Fields in Object Key section.
For our specific case: We are just classifying for master data purposes. This is not for use in VC. Though we will be using dependencies on characteristics for this class to determine when certain characteristics will be required, or some will be populated from a variant table look-up. Our table just has two fields: Specification Number & Effective Date whose combination will be the object we are classifying.
I also looked at existing records in TCLO pre-configured by SAP, but I could not decern a pattern.
Statistics on records in table TCLO regarding Key Field flag in Fields in Object Key section:
198 records in TCLO (provided by SAP, based on our PMT(TEST) client as of 1/31/2023)
11 records have no fields in object key populated.
97 have 1 field in Fields in Object Key
· 45 have Key Field flag checked.
· 42 do not have Key Field flag checked.
90 have multiple fields in Fields in Object Key
· 15 have all of fields in object key with Key Field flag checked.
· 41 have none of fields in object key with Key Field flag checked.
· 34 have some of fields in object key with Key Field flag checked.
