Dear Experts,

I am trying to load Qualified Supplier in SM Admin to enable Guided Buying. Load is failing due to error - ariba.sm.api.messages.core.ServiceException: Unable to reach MDS or invalid code specified - [76122202]. 76122202 is the commodity code to which the Supplier is being Qualified. Please assist what could be wrong with this Commodity code as the same is active in Ariba Buying.

Thanks

Manish

Hi Manish,

I hope you are very well and that I can help.

If you have not done this process, please see this information below and I also send you the link so you can see more information.

"If you see the following error during import, Unable to reach MDS or invalid code specified-[0000], check the following to ensure your import is successful:

  • The suppliers in the import file exist in the vendor database. Click Suppliers Export to export the Suppliers.csv file and look for the required supplier on the list.
  • The commodity code domain is set appropriately in the Other Settings section of SM Admin.
  • The data values in the file are active and enabled in SAP Ariba Buying (commodity code) and SAP Ariba Sourcing(commodity code and region), including all the parents to the top of the commodity code and region hierarchies."

Thank you Nilma for your response.

I did check this note earlier. Amongst the 3 suggested option I could not check the Commodity Code Domain as SAP is removed the section "Other Settings" from SM Admin. SAP now suggests Checking the Parameter "Application.ClassificationCodes.SystemCommodityCodeDomainName". Unfortunately I was not able to locate this Parameter in Intelligent Configuration Manager. If you can help locating, that will be a great help.
