Limitations of CDS Consumption Views with Analysis for Office

When creating CDS Consumption views for Analysis for Office, there appear to be a number of limitations compared to using a BW query on a Cube view, or am I missing some annotations to do the same:

1) Background Filters - In Consumption view it only appears possible to define a filter which in effect is a prompt in AFO. It does not appear possible to add a background filter which can be changed at runtime using VBA without returning to the prompt screen

2) Paramaters and filters do not have a technical name so cannot be referenced using formulae like =SAPGetVariable as you are unable to specific a variable name, although using SAPListOfVariables appears to return all filter values
