RUN SETTLEMET PROFILE IN PS

Hi All,

As i am new in PS. I want to run the whole process of settlement from start to end. Can anyone please help me because i want to present it tomorrow.

Hi Mike, I am afraid this request is way too generic. There can be a lot of detail behind settlement and you need to be more specific.

Hi Mike,

1. Settlement is controlled by the Settlement Profile. It can be defaulted in the configuration of the Project Profile, it can be also manually changed in the settlement parameters for specific object (like WBS).

2. Settlement can be mandatory, can be optional, can be not for settlement

3. In the settlement profile you define to which data objects the settlement can be executed.

4. Settlement postings are controlled by the Allocation Structure.

5. In certain cases you would also need a Source Structure.

6. There are multiple types of settlement rules, settlement rules can have validity dates (as Period/Year). Settlement rules can be generated automatically or maintained manually.

All the above is available from SAP Help, but normally it takes more than one day to learn about it.

Running project settlement is a very simple process with a single transaction, CJ88. Enter your project id, the period and fiscal year you are processing, check the other parameters and hit execute.

While running settlement is easy, getting ready to run settlement depends on a lot of configuration and actual financial postings. Have you already made those?
