SAP Emarsys Account Engagement - Separate Account needed for Setup?

Hi Experts,

it would be great if anyone could clarify if I understood the Onboarding Guide for SAP Emarsys Account Engagement correctly.

Is it mandatory to purchase a separate Emarsys Account to activate Account Engagement?

We already have an Emarsys Account which is integrated with Commerce Cloud. Is it possible to use that one and "enhance" it with Account Engagement features/configuration or do we really need another one?

wyoung, maybe you know the answer to that question?

Kind Regards

Tobias

tobias.schneider02 if an Emarsys account is setup for B2C e-commerce use cases (which is evidenced by having one or more of the modules I mentioned) then it will require a separate account in order to run the SAP Emarsys, Account Engagement add-on.

This is in part due to the fact that you would not want your B2C contact data mixing with your B2B account-contact data.

So, going back to your original question / scenario, in order to use the Account Engagement option, you would need to:

  • purchase an additional account (Emarsys)
  • add-on the Account Engagement option
  • then you can link your desired SAP Sales Cloud tenant to the new Emarsys account

I hope this helps clarify some things. Please let me know if you have additional questions or work with your CSP/CSM to scope out the solution

Account Engagement (i.e. SAP Sales Cloud) and SAP Commerce Cloud work together so you don’t need to have a new/separated account for Sales Cloud.

Hi nisha_berg,

thanks for clarifying. Then in my opinion the statements in the guide are a little bit confusing. But maybe it's just me who misunderstood it 🙂

How can we then "enable/activate" Account Engagement? Do we have to open an incident for that?

Kind Regards

Tobias

Hi asimmons89,

yes it seems like the first "module" is enabled, cause I can see the E-Commerce strategic dashboard and tactics.

What does that mean for us now?
