No transportation lanes passed to the optimizer - S4 2021

Hi,

We are getting the optimizer error "No transportation lanes passed to the optimizer" when we tested the optimizer planning first time after setup.

We had setup simple lane and the planning profile correctly. but we could not find the transportation lane passed as input as per the optimizer log. any suggestions. please?

It's possible you are using an outdated version of the VSR optimizer. Please check 3134273 - Error about missing lanes raised by VSR optimizer after upgrade to S/4HANA 2021.

We have installed VSR Optimizer recently as per below transaction RCC_CUST and connection results. I hope based on the below details we have installed the correct VSR optimizer. please check and confirm. thank you.

TVSR01 - TVSR application for Vehicle rescheduling and Routing engine is active as per below snapshot.

To confirm the VSR optimizer version, could you share a screenshot of RCC_VERSION?

Hi Sukumar,

Please check if the log file of the optimizer run has the warning or error message - " 'MsgMgr' model has no active versions" or "variables" . If this is the case, then the location - zone assignment is probably not passed to the optimizer due to which it is not able to find any lanes between SRC location and DEST zone.

This would probably mean that master data set up was done before assigning these objects to an active model and version for planning purposes

If this error/warning is not observed in the log, then it would be better to create a case with SAP to understand where this is going wrong and rectify the same.

As checked the optimizer log in the RCCF_LOG and there is no warning message related to model active versions or variables.

I have only one warning warning message in the RCCF_LOG. warning message ".

Please suggest if there are any other reasons getting this error

Also, there are no lanes passed to the optimizer.

Please suggest if there are any settings in the planning profile related to this error "No transportation lanes passed to the optimizer.

Hi,

Please check if there is any way to associated current master data with the active version of model . (or) we have to delete all the locations in TM master data and to re-create them again. because we have some transactional documents already with these TM locations , so it might be quite difficult to delete the TM locations and to re-create again..

When we checked for the active version of model we are getting the below message in SPRO path "SAP Transportation Management - Transportation Management - Master Data- Create Active Version and Model.

Creation of Active Model and Active Version

A model with the name 000 already exists

A planning version called 000 already exists

Hi,

1. Use Test Lane Determination (transaction code /SCMB/LD_TEST or in SE38 run report /SCMB/TEST_LDDD) to simulate the transportation lane determination.

   Enter the desired Start Location, End Location and Means of Transport (MTR). For Planning purposes, enter for the Validity date + Validity time + Timezone the datetime corresponding to the start of your Planning Horizon. If the lane is successfully found in this test, it should be picked as input to the optimizer.

2. Does the planning horizon encompass the lane start date? If not, try to keep a larger planning horizon that includes these dates.

3. Does the lane validity end before the acceptable date at destination location of the FU? If so, extend lane validity.

As checked the Test Lane determination transaction code, its picked the lane successfully as shown below.

Also checked the validity period as well at lane level, which looks good , but still getting the same issue.

Any further suggestions to fix this issue
