Inspection lot generated with revision status

Hello, everyone. Is it possible that an inspection lot is generated automatically based on the new revision level? We have to check our materials after a change. Unfortunately, sometimes much too early. The incoming goods inspection therefore often still checks old revisions. I've thought about contacting purchasing so they can tell me when the new revision will be ordered. I think there is a simpler solution. Can you help me?

Hi Nicola,

I have given some thought into your scenario and I think you can build a workflow that is triggered when your task is released. The workflow will create an inspection lot, where you will pass on the new revision level (BAPI CO_QM_INSPECTION_LOT_CREATE). To identify the business event for your task you can put a trace (tcode SWEL) and simulate your normal process. When your event is identified you can start building your workflow.

Hope this helps, not that simple as you were probably expecting 😉

Hi Nicola,

You can shorten the validity of your revision levels til the date when you know you will expect the next revision.

When the next revision is release, and your inspection is triggered it will pick the revision valid for that date.

Hope this helps.

Andrei

Hello Andrei, thank you very much for your answer. Unfortunately, the person responsible for the change is not aware of when we will receive the new revision. depending on the supplier still has a lot of old revisions in stock that are still used. Sometimes the supplier hasn't even received a new drawing and i have to set the material on inspection because i've already received the task.
