Analyzing Third-Party Software for an Upgrade

We're replacing our current database with HANA (we're not going to S/4HANA, just replacing the database). We're currently working on one of our older systems.

We've reviewed the third-party add-ons and resolved issues with them. We're now reviewing code in the system that exist in third-party namespaces. This is code that does not belong to an add-on. Usually installed by receiving an external transport.

We're have been unable to confirm the software/objects in these namespaces are actually being executed and UPL hasn't been running long enough to give us our answer. We'd like to contact the vendor to determine if their software will work with the HANA database.

Since this system is quite old, we are unable to find documentation regarding what we believe are third-party namespaces, installed back in 2014. We've looked at some code and other objects looking for an indication of the owner of the namespace. The code doesn't contain any header or other comments suggesting the vendor. We've been unable to obtain the vendor names from SAP via an SAP incident.

What have other companies done regarding third-party software during an upgrade, specifically related to software in namespaces, not add-ons?
