Analysis for Office - Prompt/Variable screen issue

Dear colleagues,

I am facing the following issue when running planning report in Analysis for Office 2.3.1.59180.

I have a characteristic in prompt screen, Project, which property "Filter Value Selection at Query Execution" is defined as "Values in Master Data Table".

Currently MD table only contains 500 records.

However, when clicking question mark for displaying MD values, it takes up to 20 seconds.

There is a significant difference if I run the query in RSRT. Values are displayed in less than three seconds.

Test with "old" Analyzer shows up same result: Less than 2-3 seconds for displaying MD values.

Any idea what could be the cause of this huge difference?

I have tried to use RSTT or check profiling statistics, but I couldnt manage to track the issue.

Issue is fixed changing Excel Analysis settings --> User --> Maximum Number of Members Displayed in Filter Dialog.

Thanks for your prompt reply.

I have run profiling statistics and identify root cause.

There is an issue with function module BICS_PROV_GET_MEMBERS. Very slow performance.

I have searched in OSS notes and there are several ones with similar issues regarding displaying LOV.

We will raise a new one as it is a problem not solved.

We are in SAP BW 7.5 SP3.
