Using SAP RAR with Rebates using Settlement Management

Hello - we want to use Settlement Management to provide rebates to our customers. Has anyone done this while also using RAR for Revenue Recognition? We want to understand if Settlement Management can "reconcile" the RAR obligations/settlements while giving the customer credit for their rebates?
