Planning areas model for response and supply planning

Dear all,

We are working with response and supply planning. There are multiple planning levelsfrom mid-term to short term consisting of many kinds of plans as well which are supply & allocation planning, response planning, deployment planning, transportation load planning. I am quite confused about the planning area model we should have as best practice.

As of now, I think we should have two planning areas as following:

1. One planning area is used for mid-term with supply & allocation planning

2. One planning area is used for short-term with response, deployment and transportation load planning.

Please kindly advise and share your experience
