Do we need a new catalog??

We have been using CRM since 2015. When we first set this up, we set up a catalog with 5 code groups, the business now wish to change this so it has 6 code groups and is overhauled (starting over). Is it best to create a brand new catalog? Or should I just change the current?

Also, can anyone help me with HOW we add a new code group to an existing catalog?
