SAP ERP Integration with Apache Kafka (Async Bi Directional)

I am working on setting up the enterprise automation platform, which primarily needs to orchestrate business process events between SAP ERP and other enterprise systems of the organization using Apache Kafka as a ESB.

I am looking for some reference and help on any proven design pattern, which enables event driven architecture involving SAP BTP Integration Suite (SAP Event Mesh) & ESB (like Apache Kafka)

I am specially looking help on inbound events to SAP Event Mesh from external systems, (something like data events).

Does SAP ERP accepts inbound events to SAP Event Mesh from external systems?
