Validation rule with story page filters

198 Views Last edit Dec 21, 2022 at 05:16 PM 2 rev

Hello all,

I have a cost model where company code, profit centre and cost centre are separate dimensions .In In addition, profit centre and company codes are attributes of cost centre as usual.

I defined 2 validations for cost centre dimensions in my cost model as below. 1 between cost centre and company code, the other is between cost centre and profit centre See below screenshots

Here are 2 validation rules

Here is the master data for cost centre ( company code and profit centre are attributes of cost centre)

I have a cost template where all cost centre, company code and profit centre are story filters. What I would expect is : when I select a cost centre but leave company code and profit centre selection as "all" in story filter, SAC will handle this from validation rule and fill the right profit centre and company code fort his particular cost centre.

But it just does it only for profit centre but not for company code ( it sends the data to # company code). Is this an expected behaviour? When I select a wrong combination it works as expected and throw error. Please note that there are some wrong company code x cost centre combination in the model as well ( # comp code and cost centre) because we missed to define validation in the beginning. As we are in the middle of SIT, I wouldn't prefer to touch the data but can this be the root cause?

PS : I also tried to define company code and profit centre validation within the same rule. same result
