Please help me understand SAP for Banking

Hello experts.

I recently joined a company that works with SAP R/4. The institution in question is a bank and they use it (or use part of it) as the banking core and, in fact, they call it S4B (or SAP for banking. This is internal lingo). I ask you the questions you're going to read here because, in my experience with SAP Business One, it's better to ask the experts in the forums than the users about the products in question.

My experience with R/4 is nonexistent (I worked very little with R/3 about 10 years ago so what little I know, comes from there) and I would like to understand what exactly is "SAP for banking". Is it a module of R/4 or is it a standalone product?

I ask this because they also have the SAP Process Orchestration and I'm curios to know if I can use the PO to expose RFCs as SOAP or REST services. Forgive me if what I'm saying makes no sense. I'm trying to understand the ecosystem and believe me when I say it's probably easier and faster to get answers from you than from the different teams within the company.
