#ABAP_Trial checkSybaseUser Error / modlib.jslib.caughtExceptionin ABAP Developer Edition 7.52 SP04

Hi,

I followed the official instructions from the PDF doc ("Installing SAP AS ABAP 7.52 SP04 on VMWare [Developer Edition]") with Document Version: 1.0 – 2022-04-07.

I'm at the process of installing AS ABAP Server.

After running the install.sh script I constantly get below error:

Execute step checkSybaseUser of component |offlineadjustment_dialogs|ind|ind|ind|ind|0|0|offlineadjustment_os_users|ind|ind|ind|ind|osUsers|0|NW_GetDBUserParameter|ind|ind|ind|ind|getDBUserParameter|0|NW_GetUserParameterUnix_syb|ind|ind|ind|ind|syb_unix|0

Start SAPinst in interactive mode to solve this problem).

What I tried so far:

  1. Used Down1oad (8 char long; upper case + lowercase + number) as password when I was asked for a OS user password. It doesn't have to be the Linux root password, right?
  2. Replaced existing ASE Sybase license(which was included in the big zip files) with the new one from zip file "SAP ABAP AS Part License" from the same download location: https://developers.sap.com/trials-downloads.html?search=ABAP. For this, I replaced the existing one "SYBASE_ASE_TestDrive.lic" (with timestamp 05 Feb 2019) with the new one "SYBASE_ASE_TD.lic" (with timestamp 18 Feb 2021) in path /sybase/NPL/SYSAM-2_0/licenses
  3. Deleted the three users sapadm npladm sybnpl plus deleted the entries from /etc/init.d
  4. Deleted the created directories /sapmnt /sybase /usr/sap
  5. Deleted the downloaded zip.files in order to have more space available on the 100gb partition. Currently, I have more than 60 GB free space.
  6. OS Language is English

Kindly support me on this issue (also requesting Julie Plummer for assistance).

Thank you in advance!
