License management but not SAPs!

Dear all,

Disclaimer...I am an SAP novice :).

My company have SAP. Some of the products and services that we sell have licenses for both software and hardware. I want to understand how SAP supports license management and I can't find anything useful in online searches. I'm sure it's there somewhere but it is buried underneath search results for how to adminster SAP licenses which is not what I'm looking for.

Can someone point me in the right direction please?
