Change in KF in Baseline → causes or not causes identical change in Scenario(s)

Let's say we have a Planning Area with 1 version. This version has:

  • a baseline
  • a Scenario 1
  • a Scenario 2

In which cases will:

Updating the baseline cause a scenario to update as well?
The following are some behaviors I have noticed:

  • Sometimes, when I change only the baseline KF value (either in Excel Add-In or in Planner Workspace), both scenarios are not updated (after 'Refresh'). They seem unaffected by the change (= does not instantaneously adopt the new KF value of the baseline).
  • At other times, when I change only the baseline KF value ... (for example in Planner Workspace), both scenarios are updated instantaneously (after 'Refresh'), adopting the new KF value of the baseline.
  • At other times, when I change only the baseline KF value ... (for example in Excel Add-In), after having promoted scenario 1 to baseline, when then changing the baseline KF value to a new value, only one scenario, namely the scenario that had just been promoted (= scenario 1) adopts the new KF value of the baseline instantaneously (after 'Refresh'). While the other scenario (= scenario 2) remains unchanged by the change in KF value in the baseline.
  • At other times, when I change only the baseline KF value ... (for example in Data Integration Jobs, by uploading a new KF value), a scenario can also adopt the new KF value of the baseline, adopting the new KF value of the baseline.

What are the rules here with regards to a change in baseline causing 1 or more scenarios to update as well? Where are they documented?
