Expiring API certificate warning in IAS for SAP Build Apps, design time and runtime service

Hello SAP Build Apps and SAP Identity Authentication experts,

today I've logged into my Identity Authentication Service Admin console and saw this Alerts:

Expiring API certificateOne of your service provider API certificates is expiring in 14 days on Fri Dec 02 2022.#Fri Nov 18 2022when I click the "Renew here" link I'm navigated to the corresponding application in this case "SAP Build Apps". But there I can't find a section which is about Certificates.

Also I get the message:

"This application was created from a master reference application. Some of the inherited configurations can't be changed."

But what application is the master isn't mentioned. So how can I renew the certificates? Or is that done automatically?

Best Regards
Gregor

Hello Gregor,

I guess this is the application in Identity Authentication which represents SAP Build Apps as a SaaS application provided by SAP. In this case, SAP manages the application's credentials, which is the reason why you don't even see them in your administration console. So overall, you don't need to care.

Still obviously it doesn't make that you even see these notifications, which is the first issue we need to tackle. You might be concerned assuming that SAP might miss to update the certificate in time. Actually even this is not the case, and the lifetime validation of client certificates in this case is unfortunately broken at the moment. This is a known issue that we will fix.

Summary: Just ignore these messages (as long as they relate to applications provided by SAP and not your custom ones, of course).

Kind regards

Heiko

Is this still an issue? I am seeing expiration notices on my system as well.
