How to fix a field on a view that is showing the wrong data type

I'm updating the view on a report. I'm adding in a column from a table that has a TIMESTAMP data type. When I go to update the database to refresh the changes to the report, In the Field Explorer, the new column shows up a String.

When I go to create a new blank report and select this view, this new column shows up as a Datetime.

How do I correct this existing report ?

Thank you.

I found the issue. There is a setting in Report Options where you can tell Crystal to interpret Date as

1) String

2) Date

3) Date Time

The report in question as set to string.

I've tried Verify Database and that did not help. I should mention that I'm on a really old version of the designer, I'm using the standalone Crystal Reports XI Release 2 designer version 11.5.8.826. Perhaps I need to update my designer and that may help.

Database - Verify Database should fix it in CRD
