Publication "Specify the Recipients for the Publication" the list is empty

Hi There,

We are using SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.3 Support Pack 2 Patch 7

I have a publication sending a Webi document to a list of dynamic recipients.

I want to limit the publication to send to four of the ten recipients in the dynamic recipients list (Which is based on an Excel file and a Webi document reading from the file).

In the Publication, Dynamic Recipient section - when I select Preview Document or Specify the Recipients for the Publication, the list is blank.

I have a number of different publications using various Dynamic Recipient listings and this is becoming a common behavior.

Any ideas would be weclome.

Hi Gill and other SAP Experts,

We are currently amidst of an upgrade of our BO landscape from BI Platform 4.2 Support Pack 7 Patch 6 to SAP Business Objects BI Platform 4.3 Support Pack 3 Patch 0.

Apparently we too are facing similar issue with regards to Publications as above, mentioned by Gill.

Despite following all the appropriate steps for the Publications , Preview document is not being loaded and the Dynamic Recipients screen doesn't show the values.

This is a major concern given that we are having numerous Publications in our Organisation and this could become a potential showstopper hence requesting your valuable insights and possible solutions in this regard.

Hi Gill,

This is to let you know that our issue (Publications-Dynamic Recipients) has been fixed now.

Solution from SAP: Need to upgrade to BO 4.3 SP3 Patch 2 (the latest BO patch for now).

Given the complexity involved and the significance of this issue to be permanently fixed for our organisation, we went ahead with this latest patch.

Hopefully you guys are in the same boat!

Sorry to hear you are in a similar position to us. We logged a call with SAP and their most recent response was

"Your issue has been added to the work list. You will be contacted if needed during the investigation.

If this issue is confirmed as a defect, the incident resolution should be candidate for SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence 4.x Support Package xx."

One offer of a workaround was to untick the Refresh Data on Open in your Webi document which sits on your source Dynamic Recipients. This didn't work for us.

If you use the CMC rather than the launchpad, that appears to work sometimes. Perhaps that might be of help to you.

Sorry I cant be of more assistance, its a real issue for us especially with month end reports.
